Who am I

My name is Christian D Buitrago. I’m a Colombian-American originally born in Long Island, New York. My family relocated to South Florida in the Winter of 2001. After several years traveling for a former employer, I am back in South Florida for the time being.

I have always had an interest in drawing and illustration. When I was very young I would draw on notebook paper and staple together a series of comics. I had created a collection of shorts I would share with my classmates. As the years went by I kept practicing and improving my style and I strive to continue doing so.

I attended Florida Atlantic University where I studied Graphic Design with the intention of bringing my creative approach to the world of commercial art. In the years approaching and after my graduation I worked in marketing, specializing in print materials and tradeshow displays. This gave me the incredible opportunity of travelling all over South America to see my designs in person. I was also very fortunate to receive an offer to work and live in Italy for a time.

Currently I work for Fanatics Collectibles as a Variable Design Specialist, where I am involved in the process of creating Trading cards for various licenses including MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, WWE, Disney, and more.

Throughout the years I have continued to draw and have found it to be the anchor in my life. I am most comfortable when I am drawing. Involving art and creativity in my daily life gives me renewed focus. This is something I enjoy sharing with the world, whether the world enjoys it or not! My hope is to inspire others to create with everyday materials around them to show that quality comes from practice and understanding of both your materials and yourself.
